How to frame a bathroom mirror

I am excited to show you how to frame a bathroom mirror. It is the perfect way to turn a builder grade bathroom into something special!

If you follow me on instagram, you know that I am in the process of sprucing up my bathroom one project at a time, starting with this quick way to frame a bathroom mirror. We have a very plain builder grade bathroom. It’s our main bathroom and I have always hated having guests use that plain bathroom, so I decided to spruce it up a bit. One of the first things I wanted to do was frame the bathroom mirror. It really was so quick and simple and made such a big difference. This video shows how to frame a bathroom mirror from start to finish.

Framing a bathroom mirror gives a lot of bang for your buck and really doesn’t take a lot of time. You guys can totally do this in an afternoon and for around $20.

Supplies:

1×4 pine boards (add up the width and length of both sides of the mirror. I needed 2- 8 foot lengths)
Corner brackets
Wood Glue
Brad Nails
Screws or Hooks to hang the mirror
Stain and Polyurethane

Tools Needed:

Miter Saw
Brad Nailer
Drill/ Driver

Instructions:

  1. Measure the width and length of the mirror.
  2. Cut the boards at a 90 degree angle, with the measurement on the long side of the angle- for instance, if the mirror is 60 inches long, cut the board ends at 90 degrees from the long side of the angle to the other end.
  3. Stain and poly the wood.
  4. Use wood glue at the joints to create the frame.
  5. Secure the joints with brad nails or staples.
  6. Hang the frame on the mirror- watch the video above for an explanation on hanging.

I hope this is helpful to help you make your bathroom more custom and fit your style. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below.
