The Best Time to Visit St George Utah

I’m so excited to share the best time to visit St George Utah

We have been visiting St George every year for about 15 years now. We have a lot of friends and family there, and it is one of our favorite vacation spots. We love staying at the Inn at Entrada, and visiting there just seems like going home.

Along the way, as we’ve traveled frequently to St George, we have collected a bunch of fun tips about things to do in St George and where to stay in St George.

When is the best time to visit St George?

I would say ANYTIME is a great time to visit St George! Our family likes to visit in the Fall and Spring because the weather is IDEAL. Personally, I would say October, November, March, and April are our family’s favorite times to visit.

But if you are planning a trip, there are a few things to consider when booking your stay.

What is the weather like in St George?

St George is on the Utah/ Arizona border, so it is almost desert-like weather. In the Summer (June, July, August), you can expect temperatures to be right around 100 degrees during the day. In the winter (December, January, February), you can expect temperatures in the 40’s, with cooler nights and warmer afternoons.

Personally, I would say October, November, March, and April are the best times to visit because with highs between the mid-60’s and high-70’s, weather like that just cannot be beat!

Where is a family friendly place to stay in St George

Our family’s favorite place to stay in St George is The Inn at Entrada. We love staying there because there are so many great amenities, like golfing, swimming, basketball, walking trails, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, full service gym, and more. We love renting one of their casitas so we have enough space for our entire family, plus a kitchen and living room.St George vacation rental

Does it rain a lot in St George?

St George averages about 10 inches of rainfall per year. The rainiest months are in the winter- December, January, February, and March. You can expect about one inch per month during these winter months, and only about half an inch or less the rest of the year.

How far is St George from Salt Lake City?

Driving between Salt Lake City and St George isn’t a bad road trip. It only takes about 4 1/2 hours, and you stay on the same road the entire time! I-15 runs all the way down the state of Utah, so traveling between Salt Lake City and St George is not only a simple drive, but also a really beautiful drive because you get to see most of the state of Utah.

Does St George have an airport?

St George does have an airport! The St George Regional Airport is located about 6 miles outside of St George, but the drive doesn’t take too long. It is a smaller airport, so flights are limited. St George is just over an hour flight from Salt Lake City.

Is St George family friendly?

Part of the reason we love visiting St George so much is because it is so family friendly. Within just a few miles, you’ll find great parks, museums, hiking, boating, sand dunes, and so much more. Is St George sunny?

We are from Northern Utah, so we consider Southern Utah (St George specifically) really sunny. We often refer to St George as “Sunny St George”. You’ll find most of the sunshine during the Summer months (June, July, August)

Where is the best place to stay in St George?

Our family loves to stay at The Inn at Entrada. We have stayed here the past 4 years in a row, and intend to stay here for many more years to come. We have 6 people (2 adults and 4 kids) and usually get a 2 or 3 bedroom casita. It’s amazing to have our own house and enough space that we aren’t all on top of each other during our trip.

The Inn at Entrada kind of like an AirBnB or VRBO, only way better because of all the amenities- and there is always someone on site at the front desk, if you need more towels or something. Plus they have hot & fresh cinnamon rolls there every morning.

There is an indoor and outdoor pool, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, sand volleyball, ping pong, exercise room, restaurants, and a golf course on the property. We feel like we could just stay on the property forever and never be bored.
