How to make a pallet picture frame

You guys probably know by now that I love everything pallet related (you should check out my Pinterest DIY board! It’s crazy guys!) I’ve done pallet signs, halloween pallet art, some pumpkin pallet action, and even a deer head pallet art. So of course I had to keep on going with the pallets. This time I’m making some pallet frames inspired by the incredible Shanty 2 Chic. And, the supplies for these babies cost less then $5.00!!! A super simple project that doesn’t break the bank? I’d say that’s a win-win!

I had to make a few in different colors, cause I need them for all different occasions and different rooms in my house.

This is what I’ve got hanging out in my living room right now. Super festive and happy, and I’m in love with it. PS, that is my table centerpiece with candles- love that too! And you can get that Halloween Printable free too!

Aaaand, I added one to my plant shelf too. You thought I was kidding when I said I have them everywhere, right? Yeah, I was serious.

Supplies:

4- 18 inch 1×4 boards (I’ll show you how I cut these later on in the post)
2- 13 inch 1×2 boards
1- Sawtooth Picture Hanger
1- 1 inch Bulldog Clip
Paint
Sandpaper

Instructions:

This is probably easiest seen in a video. So I went on My Craft Channel to show you how to make these. (Side note: if you haven’t signed up for Pinner’s Conference (in Salt Lake City on November 7-8), do it now! And use code CREATIVE to save 10%. This video will explain why you need to be there…)

So, a few tips on how I constructed these beauties. I started with 6 foot 1×4 cedar fence pickets.  I used my Miter Saw to cut the boards into 18 inch lengths. You’ll get 4- 18 inch lengths from each board, which is exactly how many you’ll need for each pallet frame.

Then, for the pieces that cross on the top of the frame, you’ll need a 13 inch 1×2. You could just purchase a 1×2 board, but I wanted mine to match the wood in my frame. So I used the same fence pickets, but ripped them down the middle, length wise, using my Table Saw. Then I used my Miter Saw again to cut them into 13 inch pieces.

And in case you didn’t see it on the video, you just stack them all together and staple the 1×2 boards across the top. I hope you liked this project! If you want to see more ideas like this, follow me on Pinterest (@creativemomblog) and Instagram (@thecreativemom).
