You guys know how much I love being a mom. I believe families are so important, and I know that strong families are crucial to raising strong kids. Trust me when I say I am nowhere near a perfect mom, but I’m always trying to strengthen my relationship with my husband and my kids. That’s why when I heard about Utah’s First Lady, Jeanette Herbert’s initiative, Uplift Families, I knew I wanted to be part of it.
Uplift Families is designed to help all families (in Utah or not), by providing families with information, resources and support. The vision of Uplift Families is to promote happiness, prosperity and societal stability through strong families and meaningful parent-child relationships. The mission of this initiative is to connect parents with the state’s resources to help them acquire the skills necessary to raise loving, responsible children. You can find out more on the Uplift Families website.
I was able to sit with Mrs. Herbert at a blogger’s luncheon at the Governors Mansion in Downtown Salt Lake last month. We were able to talk about issues that are plaguing families in Utah and all over the country. She invited me to the Uplift Families Luau, and I would love for you guys to join me there too!
The luau is on Saturday August 27, 2016 at Thanksgiving Point Show Barn in Lehi. To purchase tickets go HERE and use code 2016$5offTCM to get $5 off.
My husband (#thecreativedad) and I will be there together, and I’d love for you to find us and say hello!
