Painted Lampshade

Tutorial

Remember when I “podged” my lamp {HERE}?

I totally love it! But after I painted my pillow, I went paint-crazy and decided to paint the lamp shade.

Of course, I wanted it to match my pillow, so I used the same Cherry Blossoms as my inspiration.

Here is the before version.

I lightly traced my cherry blossom onto my lampshade with pencil.

And then I filled in the branches with regular old brown craft paint, and the blossoms with regular green craft paint.

And this is what I ended up with!

I LOOOOOOVE it! The Mr. still isn’t sold on it, but he has no say in our decorations.

Here’s a reminder of the lamp looked like when I bought it for $2 at a yard sale….
