I’m excited to show you how to build a DIY easel chalkboard.
I have always loved using chalkboards in my decor, but I don’t like switching them out on my wall, so I decided to build an easel chalkboard. I love these chalkboards because you can use them literally anywhere!
I really wanted to build these chalkboards for the holidays so I could display our menu and have a cute welcome sign for all of the entertaining we will be doing over the next few months.
I have free building plans for a larger size chalkboard, and also a smaller child size chalkboard. I’m actually really glad I build two, because as soon as I started doodling on my chalkboard, you know my kids wanted to join in! This size is just perfect for my little ones!

I share most of my building plans on BuildSomething.com. I love this site, from Kreg (you know, the Kreg Jig people), because I can share my free building plans, and also find fun new building plans from other DIY’ers like myself. Make sure to head on over and check them out. Get the free building plans for my Easel Chalkboard or Child Size Chalkboard.
