"Date Night" Basket

Tutorial

For The Mr.’s birthday, I promised him a sleepover at Grandma’s house for the kids. {not for us}
We are going to dinner, a movie, playing games, and best of all, sleeping in on Saturday! So, here was my challenge: Make him a “Date Night” Basket using stuff we had around the house. {Since it’s his birthday, I know he would be happiest if I didn’t spend any money.}
This idea could easily be used for a Valentine’s gift. Just add whatever you have!
Here is the finished product:

I’m not going to share much because I bet you can figure out how to do this one on your own.

I really wanted to use a cute basket, but “cute” isn’t his style, so I used my biggest bowl instead. I stuffed it with these basket shred things, which I had on hand, but were bought for a dollar at Dollar Tree.
Just start sticking things in. I tried to find things that we could sneak into the movies with us {What? You never do that?}. Stuff like his favorite soda, my favorite soda, some Reese’s PB cups, and cotton candy…. Also, I put in Scrabble, since that’s our favorite game and we never get to play with little hands grabbing at the tiles, and a brownie mix {his favorite} to make while we’re playing games.

{I did add a few items that I didn’t want to show all of you… *wink* The bed looked really awesome after I was done adding the “extras” ha!}

This took me about 15 minutes to put together, and cost me nothing because I already had everything.
And yes, we have a fishing quilt on our bed. Please don’t judge me. It’s just so soft and cuddly during these cold Utah winters. But, redoing our bedroom is on the top of my list…. the list of things to do when I’ve got the money for it! ha!
I’ve got a BEAUTIFUL bed set picked out. Now I’m just waiting for the 400 bucks to fork over for it.
Any generous donations for my Bedroom Re-do?
