It never fails, when I’m standing in the checkout line at Target, some sweet woman smiles at my kids and oohs and ahhs over them. She’ll enjoy their little antics- which I DO NO enjoy at all- then before we part ways, she’ll always say, “cherish these days, they go too fast!” I always smile and nod, “I know! and I will!”
Because I DO know! And darn it, I am trying so hard to cherish it! My oldest is nearly 10. TEN!! that’s double digits people. And my littlest will be two soon. My days of diapers and bottles are coming to an end, and I’m entering the dreaded TWEEN ages. Oh, my heart! The days and years go so quickly, and the only thing that I have to remind me of their chubby baby cheeks are the priceless pictures and memories of their babyhood.
That’s why I love a good baby announcement, a graduation announcement, or wedding invitation. There is nothing better than getting a picture of a sweet baby in the mail, the pride you feel when you see someone you love graduating, or celebrating with a new couple. While I love getting these announcements in the mail, I know how stressful it can be to make them up and print them. That’s why I was so excited when I discovered a darling online stationery company called, Basic Invite. Their products–from wedding announcements to business cards to graduation announcements, and my favorite- birth announcements–are just so whimsical and dreamy!
Could you just die over that cute “Then & Now” card! (pass me the tissues!) Basic Invite has over 180 different color options for your cards and invitations, so you can make certain that your card is exactly the way you want it. They also have 40 different colors of envelopes to give your invitation that added pop! before it’s even opened. Lastly, they allow their customers to print a sample to review in hand before ever having to place a final order. Such a cool feature! You’ll know exactly what you’re getting before you commit to 400 of them!
Mamas, if you’re expecting a baby soon, or know someone who is, I am sooo excited for you! The greatest adventure lies ahead. One day you and I will be the women in the checkout line, telling those sweet young mamas to “cherish these days!” But until then, take a million pictures, enjoy every birthday, and let someone else do the stressful things- like make invitations and announcements. Because that sweet baby face on the announcement will be 10 before you know it.
They grow up too fast.
