Christmas Advent Idea (and a giveaway!)

Christmas

I’m so excited to share my Christmas Advent idea with you guys. We’ve had an advent calendar in the past, but it went from December 1st until Christmas, which I think is a wee bit too long. Now, don’t go calling me Scrooge or anything, but I just have a hard time keeping up with something that long, and after a while, my kids lose interest. So, I came up with this new idea for the 12 days of Christmas.

You still have time to do this, or you could do 10 days or 5 days of Christmas if you want to simplify this idea even more.

Oh, and do you recognize that little Reindeer?

I’m going to show you how I made these cute little envelopes, what I put inside of them, and I’m hosting a GIVEAWAY (yay!) so you can make your own!

Isn’t it just so festive and fun? I LOVE IT!!!

Would you like to make your own?

Supplies needed:

Envelope Punch Board
Paper Trimmer
Christmas Colored Cardstock
Cardstock Cards
Closures for your envelopes (I used a brad and an eyelet)

Instructions:

Start by making your envelopes with your Envelope Punch Board.

If you’ve never used one before, here’s how to use the Envelope Punch Board.

1. Decide what size of envelope you want to make- use the trusty guide on your punch board.
2. Trim your paper to size
3. Line your paper up with the measurement on the guide
4. Punch and score your paper
5. Rotate Paper counter-clockwise. Line up the score with the guide, and punch and score. Repeat until all sides have been punched and scored.
6. Place paper in the opposite side of the punch, and round the corners.
7. Your envelope should be all punched and scored
8. Fold and seal your envelope. I used the Sticky Thumb Adhesive Runner
9. And there you have your envelope!

For each day, I came up with a new activity and wrote them on Cardstock Cards.

Then stuck them inside my envelopes, which I decorated using these Envelope Wraps.

And closed them up, using a brad, an eyelet, and some twine. (all found here)

I simply hung my envelopes on twine that I strung inside a large, empty frame.

And now we have a countdown for the twelve days of Christmas!

I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. So festive and cute.
